IMPORTANT NOTICE - There are several major issues with VideoPaper Builder. View our Known Issues page for descriptions of the issues and work-arounds.

Importing Transcripts Into the Caption Organizer

Click here to download an .avi movie of Importing Transcripts into the Caption Organizer. The movie shows how to import and timecode utterances. The movie is approximately 16mb.

The right column of the VideoPaper Builder Interface contains a CAPTIONS tab; clicking on this tab button opens the Caption Organizer and displays a list of CAPTIONS (imported transcript files, or transcripts generated within the Caption Editor).

To import files into this list, click on the IMPORT CAPTION icon in the CAPTIONS tab area of the interface. A dialog box will open, in which you can navigate to the desired text file and click OPEN. The file will appear in the list of Captions as an Untitled Caption. If it contained utterances by multiple speakers, it will be imported as multiple caption files, one for each speaker listed.

Click on the “untitled” text label to rename the caption file. You may also single click on the Caption icon and then click on the SETTINGS icon to open the EDIT CAPTION SETTINGS dialog box. Follow this process for each transcript file you wish to include, or go directly to working within the Caption Wizard, which will automatically generate a Caption file of your work.
