Overlay Buttons

Click here to download an .avi movie of working with Overlay buttons. The movie shows how to create, activate, and delete Overlay Buttons. The movie is approximately 3mb.

Adding Overlay Button Links

Note: In order to insert Overlay button links, you must have first created Overlays in your Timeline. Go to the Overlay section of the User Guide to learn how to do this.

Overlay buttons are inserted into Text Pages within the Text Editor, and link to selected slides. Overlay buttons may be added at any time within Text Pages; Overlay buttons be added or edited at any time; Overlay buttons may be moved within the text page, deleted, or edited (choosing a different slide image) at any time. There is no limit to the number of Overlay buttons that may be included in the VideoPaper Project.

To add a Overlay button, position the cursor at the desired place in the selected text page. Click on the  INSERT CONTROLLER icon, located in the Toolbar. Choose Insert Overlay Button.

A Show Overlays button will appear in the text.

When you right-click on the Show Overlays button, the overlays will appear in the movie frame.

In the published VideoPaper, the Show Overlays button becomes a Toggle Overlays button, allowing you to turn on/off the overlays as you watch the video.

Here is what this looks like in a published VideoPaper:
