IMPORTANT NOTICE - There are several major issues with VideoPaper Builder. View our Known Issues page for descriptions of the issues and work-arounds.
Working
with Pages and Sections
Click here to download an .avi movie of Working with Pages and Sections. The movie shows how to create and order files and folders. The movie is approximately 6mb.
The right column of the VideoPaper Builder Interface contains a PAGES tab, which is the default active tab at startup.
By working within this section of the interface, you will generate a list of text pages, name them, and organize them in section folders, just as you would a set of files and folders on your computer hard drive. This organization scheme later becomes the Navigation Bar for your VideoPaper. When publishing your VideoPaper project, VideoPaper Builder will automatically number and link each of your pages with title, page number information, and links to each page in the sequence determined by the list generated in the PAGES tab.
The central column of the VideoPaper Builder Interface contains the Text Editor, which you will use to compose and/or edit imported pages of text. The content of this column changes depending on what Text Page in the Pages Tab list you have clicked on.
The following describes how to work within the Page tab and the Text Editor areas of the interface to create and edit your text pages and to organize them into a navigation menu.
Creating, Naming and Deleting New Text Pages in the Page TabClick on the
NEW
PAGE icon to create a Text Page. Click on the “untitled” text
label to rename the page. Page names should be kept to a maximum of
25 characters. You may also single click on the page icon and then click
on the
SETTINGS icon
to open the EDIT PAGE SETTINGS dialog box. In this dialog box, you can rename
the active text page, change the background color of the page (the default
text page color is white), add a background image to the page (the image
will automatically 'tile' if too small to fill the page), and change the
page margins.
Active pages (Click on a listed page icon or name to activate it- active page titles are highlighted in blue) may be deleted by clicking on the TRASH icon.
Creating, Naming and Deleting New Text SectionsClick on the
NEW
SECTION icon to create a Section Folder. Double click on the “untitled”
text label to rename the folder. Section names should be kept to a maximum
of 12 characters. You may also single click on the folder icon and
then click on the
SETTINGS icon to open the EDIT SECTION SETTINGS dialog box. In this dialog
box, you can rename the active section folder.
PAGES may be DRAGGED and DROPPED in and out of SECTIONS.
Active section folders (Click on a listed section icon or name to activate
it - active section titles are highlighted in blue) may be deleted by
clicking
on the
TRASH
icon.
As well as creating a list of text pages and section folders within the Page tab of the VideoPaper Builder Interface, you can drag and drop these Pages and Sections up and down in the list. You can also move Pages in and out of Sections, to create an order and hierarchy of text content. This will become a Navigation Menu, or, in text-based publication style, a Table of Contents.
Moving, Deleting, and Renaming Pages and Sections
Pages or Section folders may be created, renamed, or deleted at any time,
as described above.
