Viewing a Video File

Note on supported formats: VideoPaper Builder supports video formats that are supported by Quicktime - such as .mpg, .mpeg, .avi, and Qucktime's native format. .mov. Other video formats may be transcoded in Quicktime Pro (available for download for a reasonable fee from Apple) into Quicktime format.

The selected video file appears in the top left corner of the VideoPaper Builder Interface. Movie controllers are located directly below the video screen:

The Time Display is located below the controllers. Time is displayed in hour:minute:second:frame format. The Current Time of the Movie Controller slider is displayed on the left and the Selected Segment Start and End times are displayed to the right. These times default to 0:00 if no segment has been selected. The Current Time display changes as the Movie Slider is dragged across the Controller, or as the movie is played, and shows the exact time of the frame of the movie displayed on the screen.

The Start and End Times shown default to 0:00 if no segment has been selected. To SELECT a segment, move the Movie Controller to the desired starting time of the segment to be selected. While hing the CTRL key down, drag the Movie Controller to the desired end point of the segment. The Movie Controller Timeline will darken to show the selected segment and the Start and End times will change to reflect the numeric times of the selected segment.

The Sound Icon at the bottom right of the video frame allows the author to turn the sound on or off while viewing the movie.

Any of these selections may be changed at any time while working on the VideoPaper project.
